Reliable sources have confirmed to Rahil News that members of the Taliban’s Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice have detained several young women in the Shahr-e-Naw area of Kabul without providing any clear justification.

Videos circulating on social media show armed Taliban members escorting visibly frightened women into their vehicles.

Eyewitnesses report that these detentions were carried out without prior notice and occurred in various public spaces—including markets, alleys, hospitals, and shops. Some of the detained women were reportedly wearing full hijab, yet were still targeted by Taliban forces.

The Taliban's Ministry has not issued any statement explaining the motive behind the arrests or the charges, if any, against the women.

These detentions have sparked widespread outrage across social media, with many users interpreting them as a sign of escalating restrictions on women’s presence in public life.

At a time when Afghan women and girls are already banned from education, employment, and freedom of movement, the recent detentions further expose the deepening human rights crisis. Families of the detainees and rights advocates have voiced serious concerns about the women's safety and are calling for immediate accountability from the authorities and urgent attention from the international community.
